Payden Hesser has been awarded the 2018 Vista Oaks HOA annual scholarship. He is an exceptional student based on his academic accomplishments, volunteer and work ethics, and overall love for our community. He is a graduate of Rouse High School and will be attending the University of Texas in Austin in the Fall.

Payden and his family moved to the Vista Oaks neighborhood in 2002 and has been actively involved in the annual neighborhood events through his childhood. He graduated with a 3.95 GPA / 5.183 weighted GPA and graduated in the top 5% of his class. He received recognition as a Rouse Scholar each year for maintaining an A average, is a recipient of a Rouse Merit Award for demonstrating ethical principals, and received Academic All-District and Academic All-State recognition from the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.

Alongside to his strong academics, Payden is an active member of the National Honor Society, Raiders Joined for Hope – a suicide prevention organization, and Spanish Honor Society. He further instilled his dedication to teamwork as member of the Rouse basketball team which included volunteering to charitable causes including The Special Olympics Leander Lazers, Dell Children’s Hospital, and helped in community-wide events such as Leef Mudstacle and Family Fun Run.

In addition, Payden has continue building to his strong work ethic as an employee for Lifeguard4Hire as a Vista Oaks Lifeguard in 2016 as well as currently working at Costco Wholesale Corporation part-time. He believes this balance of personal growth through education, the importance of actively giving back to the community, and the responsibility of employment has and will continue to prepare him for the upcoming college years and into his future career. He will be attending school full-time while continuing to work part-time.

The HOA Board of Directors is proud to have Payden as a member of the Vista Oaks community and recipient of the $1,000 Vista Oaks HOA annual scholarship. He has a bright future ahead of him and we look forward to seeing him continue to succeed in his studies and future career.
